10 years of Nordic walking and more resources for walkers ...

The International Nordic Walking Federation [INWA] celebrated its 10th anniversay with World Nordic Walking Day on 10th October.  As the activity is grows in popularity in the UK so do resources for walkers on the web. 

Walk4Life, part of the government's Change4Life programme to improve the nation's health and fitness, has lots of useful information including a walks planner, plus it has a Walk-o-meter on its Facebook page.

Walk England has some helpful ideas on getting started with walking and useful links to other websites.

In London you'll find online walking planners at Transport for London and Walk It which are great for helping you to integrate walking into your daily life.

Nordic walking delivers more health and fitness benefits than walking without poles.  If you want to try Nordic walking and turn your walk into more of a workout, check out our beginners' classes.
