Come for a 5km nordic walk for BBC Children in Need

Want fun challenge? Join me on a 5km Nordic walk around Hyde Park and raise money for a good cause on Sunday 2 October from 9-11am.  To take part you need to register here.  It costs £10.00 and if you want to rustle up some sponsorship you can download a sponsorship form.  There's no extra charge from Moving Feet.

New to nordic walking? There's still time to learn.

If you don't know how to nordic walk you can learn at one of my introductory workshops on 28 September or 1 October, and then I'll lend you poles to use on the charity walk at no extra cost.  You can book an introductory nordic walking workshop online.

Need poles?

If you're one of my clients and would like to borrow poles for the event free of charge, just email me by midday on Saturday and tell what size you need [or your height].

Who's organising this event?

This charity nordic walk is organised by British Nordic Walking, the UK nordic walking training body endorsed by INWA (the International Nordic Walking Federation].  As a INWA registered instructor I'm supporting the event and will be taking part.

You can find out more the walk here.  It's happening alongside the annual INWA 2011 Convention which is taking place in London this weekend so you'll be participating with nordic walkers from all over the world.

Meeting up

You'll need to collect your participant number from the registration desk by the bandstand near Hyde Park Corner between 8.30-9am so I'll meet you there if you email me to let me know you're coming.

The weather forecast is good for the weekend so sign up now!

Cross country skiing in Norway

If you've only ever been alpine skiing and wondered what cross country skiing is all about, this article describes it quite well.

Naturally I think the area around Kvitavatn where I'm working offers better scenery and our tracks are properly machine cut, not just done with a skidoo, which makes for easier skiing.  Have a look at the Exodus website if you'd like to find out more.
